Reorganization

As many of you may know, the President and Provost have struck a committee to investigate the possibility of faculty reorganization for the Arts and Social Science faculties (Humanities, Fine Arts, Communication and Culture, and Social Sciences). For more information on the university committee, please click here:

Each faculty has a member on this committee, and the member is charged with gathering information from a range of constituencies (faculty, student, support staff) on this matter. Town hall meetings will be set up, and consultation is taking place with student representatives (both graduate and undergraduate).

We invite your comments.

We would also like to provide an opportunity for Social Science people to send their input electronically to the committee. Below, you will see a link that will allow you to send a message to a dedicated feedback account. Only the Dean (Kevin McQuillan) and the SS committee representative (John Archibald) will have access to this account. Information gathered here will be shared with the university-level committee.

Please feel free to use our online comment form or email the Social Science Faculty directly.

On January 22nd, there was a cross-faculty town hall meeting. A pdf of the slideshow is here.

Here is the final copy of a document discussing various structural options for the reorganization of the Arts and Social Sciences faculties. The document was compiled by John Archibald. Please send comments via the Comment box on this web page.
